Taking a daily walk is not only good for your physical health, but it can also be incredibly beneficial for your mental and emotional well-being. A daily walk can be meditative, calming, and even energizing - depending on how you approach it. Let's discuss how to make a daily walk into something more than just exercise - let's use it as an opportunity to reset, and reconnect with ourselves and the environment around us.

1. Setting the Intention

Before you start walking, take a few moments to think about what you would like to get out of your walk. Is this a time when you want to focus on clearing your mind? Do you want to focus on being mindful and aware of the environment around you? Or do you want to spend time processing some thoughts or feelings? Take some time before starting your walk and set an intention for yourself - this will help shape the experience and help guide the direction of your thoughts.

2. Get Connected with Nature

Once you have set an intention for your walk, open yourself up to become connected with nature. Observe the plants around you - what kind are they? What color are their leaves? Feel the texture of the ground beneath your feet as you take each step - is it soft or hard? Notice any animals that may be passing by - birds chirping in trees, squirrels running across sidewalks, etc. Taking notice of these small things can help bring awareness back into our lives and provide us with moments of tranquility and peace in our busy lives.

3. Surrender Control

When we’re taking a walk, we often feel compelled to keep moving at all times. But sometimes it’s necessary to surrender control and allow ourselves moments where we just stand still and observe our surroundings without judgment or expectation. If we find ourselves stuck in a thought cycle that’s causing us stress or anxiety, try stopping in place while focusing on slow deep breaths until those feelings subside. It’s important during these moments not to fight against these thoughts but instead simply acknowledge them without judgment before releasing them from our minds.

A daily walk can provide many benefits both mentally and physically if approached in the right way. Before starting out on any journey, setting an intention is important so that we know what outcome we're hoping for during our journey; getting connected with nature helps us become mindful of our environment; finally surrendering control allows us to take a pause from life's chaotic moments so that we can reset emotionally and mentally. Taking advantage of these simple steps during your daily walks will help build confidence, clarity, and connection - ultimately helping lead towards living a more intentional life!

Happy Walking,

Tay
